On December 19, 2011, we received a wonderful Christmas card from one of our recent clients, Karen and Marvin Anderson of Ann Arbor, Michigan and their dog Barney:
“Dear Mike and Amy: Just this week, Barney waited in “place” while my friend entered the front door and remained there until released to say hello. Amazing! Thank you so much!”
It warms our hearts to hear of the continued progress clients have with their dogs even after the official in home dog training sessions are complete. As a side note, when I first met Barney he charged at me jumping and barking with a lot of enthusiasm. He had no intention of hurting me but he wanted to show me that he didn’t like people visiting him. However, in just a few weeks, he learned to be calm and enjoy being petted by me and other house visitors as well as going to his “place” (a spot on the upstairs landing in view of the front door) and remaining there calmly instead of barking at visitors at the front door.
Thanks Karen and Marvin for sharing your continued progress with us and give Barney a big hug for us. You’ve done a nice job working with Barney.
