On May 2, 2011 four students of Michael Burkey’s Canine Behavioral Training’s Advanced Manners dog training class successfully passed the American Kennel Club’s (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluation at the Humane Society of Huron Valley, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The CGC evaluation is a ten step process which evaluates the handler’s control of their dog in public settings and the dog’s ability to respond to obedience cues as well as cope with being approached and handled by a stranger.
The four new CGC stars are:
- Michelle Houchins and Maggie (Border Collie mix) of Plymouth, Michigan
- Dr. Carol McKee and Ruby (Rottweiler mix) of Novi, Michigan
- Nancy Peterson and Niko (Chesapeake Bay Retriever) of Ann Arbor, Michigan
- Aaron Radlinski and Sparta (Australian Cattle Dog and German Shepherd mix) of Ann Arbor, Michigan
Congratulations to all!  They have done a wonderful job learning and training their canine partners.  To teach your dog good manners and to become a canine good citizen, contact Michael Burkey at Michigan Dog Trainer.Â
