Ben is a very striking good looking and friendly German Shepherd. He was trained at Michigan Dog Training and he does not have behavior issues. The parents have come to the realization that their work schedules does not allow them enough time to spend with Ben as he deserves. I commend them for loving him enough to consider his needs over their own. They are very responsible dog owners and want to be sure to find the right new home for Ben. The below is what his parents say about him…..Michael Burkey.
“Ben is a very handsome, intelligent and friendly German Shepherd. He is slightly over a year old, so he still has some growing to do. Ben has lived with our family of four, including two small boys, ages four and seven, and he is extremely gentle with them. Ben is completely house-broken, and is current on all shots, vaccines and heartworm preventative.
Ben has recently completed a 4-week Boot Camp at Michigan Dog Trainers, located in Plymouth, MI and has been trained by Michael Burkey. Ben has completed a Remote Manners class, and has responded very well to training. He is bright, strong, and has a lot of energy. He was purchased from a family in Grand Rapids when he was 12 weeks old, and has been with our family since puppyhood.
Due to work circumstances, and extended time away from home, Ben is in need of a family that will offer more interaction. Ben loves to be outside, and he has a fondness for cold weather….he has a lot of fur! More than being outside, Ben is a family dog….he needs people around, and plenty of exercise and a family with children would be a great place for him.
We would love to see him to go a great home…he is truly a special German Shepherd, and we want the best life for him. ……Sincerely, Kim and Chris
8/11/14 Ben is currently in a new home as a trial period to ensure he and his new GSD brother get along well. Things are looking very good and I’m sure the adoption will be complete soon. Thanks to everyone who voiced an interest in Ben. Michael Burkey
8/12/14 Ben has officially been adopted by their new owners Lynn and Rick and their other dog Kaiser who are also students of MDT. It’s a small world though, as Lynn and Kim use to work together. So it must’ve been fate. Michael Burkey
