On January 27, 2014, two German Shepherds, one of them a Service Dog, earned their American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizenship titles at Michigan Dog Training in Plymouth, Michigan. The evaluation was conducted by Michael Burkey and witnessed by Jenny King of Milford, Michigan. The ten step evaluation measures a dog’s confidence and obedience amongst distractions as well as the dog’s ability to be handled by friendly strangers.
