PUPPY S.T.A.R. PROGRAM
On March 24, 2015, six puppies at Michigan Dog Training in Plymouth, Michigan passed the American Kennel Club (AKC) S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. They attended the Puppy 1 and Puppy 2 Manners classes which included eight weeks of puppy and owner education on responsible dog ownership, how to raise a puppy, how to provide proper socialization and puppy obedience lessons. They are now ready to participate in the Intermediate Manners class which will prepare them for the AKC Canine Good Citizen title.

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN
On March 24, 2015, four dogs passed the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen evaluation after attending the Intermediate Manners class. The CGC consists of ten exercises in which the dog needs to show basic commands such as walking on a loose leash, meeting another dog team appropriately, remaining calm while separated from their owner for three minutes, stay and come when called, etc.

ADVANCED CANINE GOOD CITIZEN
On March 25, 2015, two dogs passed the American Kennel Club (AKC) Advanced Canine Good Citizen evaluation at the end of their Advanced Manners dog class. This test evaluates the dog’s ability to demonstrate good obedience in community settings. Exercises include passing another dog team in a hallway, having people approach carrying bags, being able to wait at a doorway without pulling while the handler steps through with a cup of favorite brew, etc.
