On January 13, 2014, Gabi and her dog, Empty Netter (Bauer), an All American Dog of Ferndale, Michigan earned their Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA) title at Michigan Dog Training (MDT) in Plymouth, Michigan. They were evaluated by Michael Burkey, President of MDT with assistance from Chan Duckworth, Jenny King, and Kiley and Jared Spade.
The CGCA is a new title which tests dog teams whom have already earned a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title with more challenging obedience skills that shows the dogs can handle being pressured in community settings such as being on a sit or down stay within three feet of three other dogs, passing another dog team in a busy hallway, leaving food dropped on the floor alone when told to do so, waiting for their handlers and not pulling on the leash as the dog team enters and exits a building doorway carrying a cup of water and more.
Congratulations to Bauer and Gabi! You are a great working team. Gabi and Bauer attends MDT’s Nosework and All Star Dog group classes. To learn how your dog can earn it’s CGCA title, contact Michigan Dog Training at 734-634-4152.
