Michigan Dog Training, Randy Hare, Scent detection training

May 30-June 1, 2015 – Randy Hare 3 day Scent Detection Trainer Workshop

Michigan Dog Training is honored to host Randy Hare; professional trainer of dog trainers, police K9 Units and Search and Rescue K9 Units. The training days will run from 9am – 5pm.

16 working spots (12 of the 16 remain available as of May 24, 2015) and unlimited auditing spots will be the same price. Randy doesn’t believe in charging more for working spots and we don’t either.  Dogs in attendance will be worked dependent upon ability and time available. The seminar fee is only $300.00. No refunds.

April 4, 2015 – “Remote Collar Workshop: Get the Reliability You Want”

Your dog knows the basic commands but yet isn’t able to perform them reliably especially when faced with high distractions such as other dogs, cats, cars, etc. Get that reliability by attending a Remote Collar Workshop with your dog at Michigan Dog Training on Saturday April 4, 2015 9-10am taught by MDT’s trainers Michael Webber and Erica Hensley.  Most people only know how to use the remote collar as a corrective tool.  We’ll show you how to use it as a communication tool that is humane, effective and reliable.

For $450.00 you’ll receive a Dogtra Arc or IQ remote collar (depending upon your dog’s size), the workshop and a 4 week Intermediate Manners group class commencing on Tuesday April 7, 2015 8:05-9:00pm.

Michigan Dog Training, Mr. What, Michael Burkey, Belgian MalinoisMay 1, 2015 – FREE Movie Showing of “Mr. What?”, starring Michael’s dog Kaboom

Join a free public viewing of the movie Mr. What? that Michael’s dog Kaboom starred in and Michael served as the on set animal trainer as well as a stunt double. The family movie won 5 out of 5 Dove Awards and features local talent who portray the adjustment a man has to make after being released from prison for a crime he didn’t commit. He finds redemption from a stray dog (Kaboom, named Freedom), his ailing father and a young boy.  The movie will be shown on May 1, 2015 at 6:00pm at the Grand Court, 45182 W. Park Drive, Novi MI 48377. No prior registration necessary.  Just walk in and join us.  Kaboom will be on hand for questions after the movie.  : )

Michigan Dog Training facility is located at 1031 Cherry Street, Plymouth, Michigan in the historic section (north) of Plymouth.  We are located just 1 mile north of downtown Plymouth (Kellogg Park), in between Pearl and Dunn Streets. We have easy access to M-14, 275 and I-96.

There are many hotels in the surrounding communities and we recommend the following based on price (low, medium and higher priced to give you options based on your budget and the fact that they welcome dogs). Please note, prices and information may change without notice.

    Average cost is $69-79.00 p/night. Pet Policy – One well-behaved pet per room allowed. Guest must notify front desk upon arrival and guest is liable for all damages. In consideration of all guests, pets must never be left unattended in the guest room. First pet free, second pet $10 .
