On October 24, 2017 the following puppy teams passed the AKC STAR Puppy program evaluation:

Canine Good Citizens – August 18, 2016

On August 18, 2016 four dog teams became Canine Good Citizens (CGC) by passing the American Kennel Club CGC evaluation with flying colors. The testing was done at  Michigan Dog Training in Plymouth, Michigan by CGC Evaluator Michael Burkey. Congratulations to the following teams:

1. Wendy Klochko and her dog Miss. Pepperdine of Parkshore Lake, a Miniature Poodle of Northville, Michigan
2. Leslie McGowan and her dog Jax, a Weimaraner of Novi, Michigan
3. Doug Wischmeyer and his dog Zoe, a Border Collie/Aussie Shepherd mix of Farmington Hills, Michigan

Nov 2015 Puppy STARS at MDT

Michigan Dog Training, American Kennel Club, AKC, STAR Puppy, Star Puppy, S.T.A.R. PuppyOn November 24, 2015 five puppies and their owners earned their American Kennel Club Puppy STAR titles at Michigan Dog Training in Plymouth, Michigan.  The Puppy STAR requires a pup and owner to attend a puppy class that is at least six weeks in duration (MDT’s Puppy Ultimate Class is 8 weeks in duration), a pledge by the owner to take good care in raising their puppy and successful completion of a puppy obedience evaluation and temperament test.  Puppies are now eligible to participate in our Intermediate Manners group class and work toward their Canine Good Citizen title.  The next Intermediate Manners class starts on Tuesday December 1, 2015.

Pippa, Standard Poodle becomes Canine Good Citizen

On June 24, 2014, Roslyn Dorfman and her dog Pippa, a Standard Poodle of Farmington Hills, Michigan earned their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title at Michigan Dog Training located in Plymouth, Michigan. The CGC evaluation measures a dog’s good obedience manners and the owner demonstrates they are a responsible dog owner.  To qualify, a dog must successfully complete ten different exercises such as a sit, lay down, walk on a loose leash, come when called, approach another dog team appropriately, meet a friendly stranger appropriately, accept grooming and handling, etc.  Congratulations Roslyn and Pippa CGC!

New CGC Stars Henry and Sarah

On June 24, 2012, two dogs from the Remote Manners dog training class taught by Michigan Dog Trainer passed the American Kennel Club’s (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. The test was held at Proud Lake Recreational Area near Wixom, Michigan.

Gentle Giants Become Canine Good Citizens

On July 21, 2011 three gentle giants became Canine Good Citizens (CGC) by passing the CGC evaluation sponsored by the American Kennel Club (AKC).  They all successfully passed the ten step evaluation after having participated in Michael Burkey’s Advanced Manners group dog class at the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV), Ann Arbor, Michigan.
